Frequently Asked Questions
Each request to POST /v1/optimize counts as one question selection. Session-based question selection (via /v1/sessions) uses selections internally — typically one per response submission.
On the Free plan, API calls are blocked at the limit and return a 429 rate_limited response. On Starter and Growth, soft overage kicks in — your sessions are never interrupted. Overage is billed at the per-selection and per-session rates shown above, up to the plan's cap (2x for Starter, 3x for Growth). Enterprise overage terms are defined per contract with no hard cap.
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing cycle. Your data and item banks are preserved across all plan changes.

Annual billing saves you 20% compared to monthly. Starter drops from $99/mo to $79/mo and Growth drops from $499/mo to $399/mo, billed annually. You can switch between monthly and annual at any time — changes apply at the next billing cycle.
