90-Day Manufacturing Pilot Proposal

Prove the value on your production floor. One production line, incoming inspection, measurable results.

Scope

What the Pilot Covers

The pilot targets one production line's incoming inspection process. We work with your existing inspection plan and quality data to measure the impact of QLM's optimized check selection against your current 100% inspection approach.

This is not a proof-of-concept on simulated data. It is a controlled evaluation on your production parts, producing results that your quality engineering and production management teams can independently verify.

What We Measure

Primary Metric
Inspection Time Reduction
Percentage reduction in inspection time per lot while maintaining the same defect detection rate. In benchmark environments, this ranges from 70-80%. Your results will depend on your part complexity and inspection plan breadth.
Quality
Defect Escape Rate
Comparison of defect escape rates between 100% inspection and optimized inspection. Target: zero increase in customer-reported defects during the pilot period.
Efficiency
Operator Certification Throughput
Time to certify operators using adaptive scenarios versus fixed-form exams. Typical result: certification in 4 hours versus 2 days for traditional approaches.
Safety
Safety Check Coverage
OSHA compliance coverage maintained at 100% while reducing total safety checks per shift through optimized selection and prioritization.

Timeline

Week 1
Integrate
Connect your QMS or MES to QLM via the 3 API calls described in the Integration Guide. Upload your inspection check library. Verify data flow in the sandbox environment. Typical integration effort: 1-2 developer-days.
Week 2-4
Shadow
QLM runs in parallel with your existing 100% inspection. For every incoming lot, your operators execute all checks as usual. Simultaneously, QLM selects what it would have run. We compare the two sets of results without affecting your quality operations.
Week 5-12
Live
QLM selects checks for a treatment group of lots while your existing inspection plan continues for the control group. Random assignment at the lot level. We measure all four metrics across both groups for direct comparison. Full 100% inspection is performed on all treatment-group lots at end-of-line as a safety net.
Week 13
Report
We deliver a detailed analysis report covering all four metrics, including any escaped defect analysis. Your quality engineering team receives the raw data and methodology documentation to independently verify our findings.

Success Criteria

We define success in advance so there is no ambiguity about whether the pilot delivered value. These thresholds are negotiable before the pilot starts, but fixed once it begins.

Metric Threshold How Measured
Inspection Time Reduction ≥ 60% fewer checks at equivalent quality confidence Mean checks executed in treatment vs. control, at matched quality confidence threshold
Defect Escape Rate Zero increase in defect escapes End-of-line 100% inspection catch rate on treatment lots vs. control lots
Operator Cert Throughput ≥ 50% reduction in certification time Hours to certify operators using adaptive vs. fixed-form assessment
Safety Coverage 100% OSHA compliance maintained All required safety checks completed per 30-day rolling period

Pilot Pricing

$0
First 10,000 inspections are free

The pilot is designed to be zero-risk. You pay nothing until the pilot is complete and you have independently verified the results. Production pricing is based on inspection volume and is detailed in the ROI Model.

What We Need From You

  • 1 Inspection Library — Your quality inspection check definitions in the format described in the Integration Guide. JSON, CSV, or JSONL. Minimum 50 checks; recommended 200+ for robust calibration.
  • 2 Inspection Result Feed — Real-time submission of check results (check_id, pass/fail, measured value, execution time) via the API as inspections complete during the pilot period.
  • 3 One Technical Contact — A quality engineer who can implement the API integration and troubleshoot during the integration phase. Expected time commitment: 2-4 hours total.
  • 4 Validation Data — Full 100% inspection results for treatment-group lots at end-of-line, so we can validate that optimized inspection did not miss real defects.
